Major commands of the U.S. Army have flags with a field of "national flag" blue and yellow fringe. The Coat of Arms of the U.S., in proper colors (minus the crest) is centered between the command's shoulder sleeve insignia above and a designation scroll below.

Forces Command controls all U.S. Army forces, Active, Reserve and National Guard, in the continental United States. Its principal mission is to maintain these forces in a deployable status according to current war plans. FORSCOM, as it is commonly known, has a secondary mission of continental defense. Some other Major Army Commands are Training and Doctrine Command and U.S. Army Europe.
